OTTAWA – The second night of Capital Fashion week saw a decidedly smaller audience gather at the Government Conference Centre on Saturday for runway presentations by six designers, ranging from rising stars like Anastasia Lomonova to established artists like David Dixon.

Lomonova opened the night with striking quilted jackets and fun silk dresses in refreshing polka dot floral prints. Her trench coats continued the feminine feel, which the Montreal designer says is integral to her line. After her show, Lomonova gushed about the organization of the event – her first ever.

“It’s been fantastic, they’re such a supportive organization,” said Lomonova, who already sells her garments in Victoire on Dalhousie, but came to CFW to gain “visibility, sales, and experience.”
